Trent Reznor has recruited the services of screenwriter Jim Uhls (Fight Club, Jumper) to pen his upcoming HBO miniseries Year Zero, which is based on the 2007 Nine Inch Nails album of the same name.
Reports state that Year Zero focuses around a dystopian society set in 2022, a time in which the United States is governed by Christian fundamentalists. In the series, anyone who shows independent thought or dissent disappears.
Year Zero will serve as Reznor's first foray into dramatic fiction writing for the small screen. The former NIN frontman took home the Oscar for Best Score for the movie The Social Network, and is now again working with director David Fincher, this time lending his unique talents to the score of Fincher's upcoming adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
